Why Laugh It Off?

Laugh It Off (LIO) is unlike any other weight loss program around. Here at Laugh It Off, our mission is to make weight loss fun. Our classes are centered on you and making you feel comfortable. A Registered Dietitian and one wacky lady who has successfully kept weight off teach the classes. This is unlike most weight loss programs. Most weight loss programs are only taught by people who have successfully lost weight, not actual Dietitians. LIO is taught by both!
Use Money as a Fundraiser
Laugh It Off is also focused on helping local fundraisers. Our first fundraiser will be for Faith Christian Outreach in Shawnee, OK. LIO will be donating 25% of proceeds to the Building Faith Campaign at Faith Christian Outreach.
Teach you a Healthy Lifestyle
Helping you learn how to live a healthy lifestyle is the core of our commitment. We are not here to teach you an 8 week diet. We will give you recipes and many tools to aid you in becoming healthier. We will provide a wide array of tools to help you track your progress and meet your specific goals. We will help you learn how to read food labels, go out to eat, plan for the holidays, enjoy being active, talk back to negative thoughts, eat healthy on a balanced budget and so much more. There is no secret potion, pill or food to help you lose weight. No special meals to microwave, no meal replacement bars or shakes and no points to try and figure out. Our goal is for you to have fun and take tips to last you a lifetime for you and your family. After the 8 weeks ends, an optional weekly support class will follow.
So Much More Than Just Weight
At the beginning of the 8 week class, you will complete a nutrition assessment and a full confidential physical assessment. At the end of the 8 weeks, all measurements will be taken again. There is so much more to becoming healthier than weight loss. This is why we look for a reduced blood pressure, resting heart rate, inches lost and body fat percentage lost. A calorie and fat gram goal will be set specifically for you by the Dietitian. Since we want the whole family to become healthier, we are making it available for your spouse to come free! At any time you have a question for the Dietitian you can ask via e-mail, Facebook or Twitter. Scientific up-to-date nutrition information will be provided to you.
Individual Needs
While attending LIO, you will be asked to keep a food journal to better assess your needs. Each week the Dietitian will read over the food journals to give you more tips and tools for your specific needs. You will have two convenient options to either attend group classes or meet with the Dietitian individually. LIO offers you an integrated method that blends healthy eating, starting new habits, exercise and a supportive and encouraging atmosphere.
